  1. Allied Health Students will pay Hospital Clinical Rotations of 200,000 per Rotation

DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES IN HUMANITIES

Diploma in Business Administration - Holder of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least four (4) passes in non-religious subjects AND Holder Of Certificate In Business Administration / Accountancy/ Economics/ Banking and Finance / marketing / Procurement And Supply / Law and Tax, local government administration with 2.0 GPA and above OR Holder Of Advanced Certificate Of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) With at least One Principal Pass and one Subsidiary Pass.
  2. Diploma in Computer Science - Holder of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four (4) passes in non-religious subjects; AND Basic Technician Certificate (NTA Level 4) in Computer Science (CS), Information Technology (IT), Business Information Technology (BIT); OR Holders of Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with one (1) principle pass (physics) and one (1) subsidiary pass.
  3. DIPLOMA IN ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCE PROGRAMMES

General Minimum Entrance Requirements: for ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCE PROGRAMMES Direct Entrant

  1. Ordinary Diploma in Clinical Medicine - Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four (4) Passes in non-religious Subjects including "D" Passes in Chemistry, Biology and Physics/Engineering Sciences. A Pass in Basic Mathematics and English Language is an added advantage.
  2. Ordinary Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences - Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four (4) Passes in non-religious Subjects including "D" Passes in Chemistry and Biology. A Pass in Basic Mathematics and English Language is an added advantage.
  3. Ordinary Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences - Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four (4) Passes in non-religious Subjects including "D" Passes in Chemistry, Biology and Physics/Engineering Sciences. A Pass in Basic Mathematics and English Language is an added advantage.

Upgrading Entrant

  1. Medical Laboratory Sciences - Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four (4) Passes in non-religious Subjects including "D" Passes in Chemistry , Biology, Basic Mathematics, Physics/Engineering Sciences and English Language AND must have Passed Technician Certificate (NTA Level 5) in Medical Laboratory Sciences.
  2. Clinical Medicine - Holders of Certificate (NTA level 5) in Clinical Medicine with “D” pass in Chemistry, Biology or Physics (CSEE) for the graduates starting from 2010; OR Graduates before NTA's system should have Certificate in Clinical Medicine and at Least "D" Pass in any science subject; Necessary Attachments: Technician Certificate and Transcript in Clinical Medicine and Letter of Permission from employer for graduates before 2015.
  3. Pharmaceutical Science - Holders of certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with four (4) passes in non religious subjects including "D" passes in Chemistry and Biology, and must have passed Technical Certificate (NTA Level 5) in Pharmaceutical Sciences. 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS DURING REGISTRATION

The following documents/certificates are to be presented at the time of registration, as qualification evidence:

  1. Original Ordinary Level Certificate of Education/its equivalent plus two photocopies of the same.
  2. Original Advanced Level Certificate of Education/its equivalent plus two photocopies of the same.
  3. Where applicable, the relevant Original Degree/Diploma Certificates and Transcripts plus two photocopies of each of them.
  4. Four Passport Photos

Please ensure that “ALL PAYMENTS” due for the university are paid through the bank for safety and convenience.

Please Note:

  1. The University Administration reserves the right to revise University Fees at any time during the course of your studies
  2. Fees Clearance Card will not be issued at the beginning of the Semester unless all fees are paid. Fees Clearance Card is to be picked from the Office of the Director of Finance.
  3. Money for meals and hostels should not be deposited in the University Account.
  4. Examination room access at the end of Semester will only be permitted to students who paid fees in full.
  5. Students who are beneficiaries of NHIF under their parents or guardians will be required to provide photocopies of their cards as proof to the Finance and Student Affairs Office, and ONLY then you will be exempted from acquiring individual cards.

Kampala International University in Tanzania recognises that students may experience difficulties paying full tuition fees by a stipulated date. To provide some measure of support, the university offers an instalment payment plan to bring ease to our esteemed students.
Tuition Fees can be paid either:

  1. In three (3) instalments per Semester; or
  2. In six (6) instalments per Year – (Two Semesters)

Introduction

In the bid to support and enable Tanzanians to greater levels of education, particularly the less financially privileged, KIUT has established a bursary scheme called Kampala International University Bursary Scheme. Through this scheme, the University will be offering bursaries in form of tuition fee concession of up to 50% for undergraduate programmes (Except Health Sciences) of 1-3 years.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the university scholarship scheme, applicants shall fulfill the following eligibility criteria.

  1. Be a citizen of the republic of Tanzania and a resident of the recommending district or region.
  2. Have attended a secondary education in Tanzania and obtained an A and O level certificates from NECTA, should have passed in the appropriate subject combination.
  3. Be admitted on a full-time undergraduate programme (Except Health Sciences) in any Faculty/School/ at KIUT.

How to Apply for Scholarship

  1. The bursary Committee shall write to the responsible offices at the district to recommend the given number of students’ slots. The district council shall use their criteria for even distribution across the district. This process will go throughout September- October for all the programmes (except health sciences).
  2. Applicants must submit an application for the KIUTBS through the office of the Regional Administrative Secretary (RAS) who shall along with the district council shortlist the applicants and recommend to Kampala International University in Tanzania accordingly.
  3. The names of the successful applicants together with the minutes of the council meeting should be submitted to the deputy Vice Chancellor, Academics – Kampala International University in Tanzania.
  4. In assessing the eligible applicant for the receipt of KIUBS, the district should take into consideration the following:
    • Financial need of the student
    • Academic merit based on previous qualifications, especially O and A level results.
    • Ambition and the potential to make a significant contribution to society after graduation.
    • Demonstrable qualities, which show the desire and potential to become a successful ambassador for the district and the country during and after their studies.
  5. Additional criteria may be established from time to time.

Terms and Conditions of the Scholarship

  1. Be admitted to a programme of study (Except Health Science Programmes) at Kampala International University in Tanzania
  2. The bursary is ONLY for Tanzanian students, unless otherwise authorized by the BOT for other nationalities. These Tanzanians must be First-Year-First-Semester students. No continuing student shall be awarded
  3. Meet any conditions attached to the academic offer such as the ability to pay 50% of the total tuition fee on registration.
  4. Student must be admitted on Certificate, Diploma or Bachelor Programme.
  5. Register as a full-time student for the undergraduate programme (Except Health Sciences) at KIUT by the given start date.
  6. Scholarships cannot be differed to the following academic year.
  7. Seek permission and obtain consent from the university and Bursary office before making any changes to their programme of study. This includes changing programme, programme transfer, suspending studies, etc. Where changes are made without prior approval, the scholarship will be withdrawn, and students shall be required to pay the programme amount in full. Where changes are made without prior approval, a charge Penalty of 20% of the student’s part shall be levied on the student.
  8. Seek permission from the university before extending a period of registered study. Scholarships are not automatically extendable.
  9. The scholarship is not available as cash alternative.
  10. Scholarship recipients must maintain a normal progress grades for the duration of the programme admitted for and a good behavioral record.
  11. If a student fails to meet satisfactory academic progress standards and consequently loses eligibility for the scholarship, the student shall submit a written appeal with supporting documentation for reinstatement of financial aid eligibility if the student had mitigating circumstances.
  12. Suspension due to misconduct will lead to immediate withdrawal of the Bursary.
  13. Mitigating circumstances include:
    • Serious injury of the student and/or the student’s immediate family member
    • Serious extended illness or impairment of the student and/or the student’s immediate family.
    • Death of the student’s relative
  14. Scholarship recipients must complete the degree or diploma or certificate programme within the minimum time frame.
  15. Any form of impersonation, falsification or forgery discovered either on application or later, will lead to immediate disqualification of the Bursary.
  16. The university reserves the right to withdraw the offer of the scholarship if there is a breach of the conditions attached to the scholarship. If this award letter is lost, a charge Penalty of 20% shall be levied on the student in the following semester.

Deadlines

Students may start applying for September-October intake bursaries in August of the respective year. Therefore, the opening date for receiving recommendations for bursaries shall be 3rd August and the deadline for awarding September-October intake bursaries shall be 25th October.
