The Faculty of Allied Health Sciences (FAHS)   is an academic unit, which trains Allied Health Professionals  at  the levels of both Certificate and Diploma. Allied Health Sciences is a health care field that is a distinct stream of health professionals in   the healthcare sector. Allied Health Professionals are crucial to the medical profession in conjunction with physicians and nurses, all contributing their expertise to the preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitative care of patients.

Allied Health is a term used to identify a cluster of healthcare professions and covers as many as one hundred occupational titles, exclusive of physicians, nurses and a handful of others; they all together assist confidently in implementing technology-driven medical procedures. With the enormous and continuous development of the health-care industry in the country by the Government and other stakeholders, graduates are guaranteed of being in high demand within the country and beyond as medical technologists.

Furthermore, the course provides a comprehensive footing in national and global health care trends, ethical and legal issues, health elevation and disease prevention, evidence-based practices, allied-health-based research, healthcare management, and healthcare-based informatics. This cadre is of great demand due to the increase in public demand for medical services combined with higher health care costs.  They serve also as a means of strengthening the health workforce capacity to deliver essential health care services. Most healthcare facilities in the rural and underserved areas are served by this cadre first.

FAHS offers its programs through three departments namely:
