Specializing in legal areas, the department anticipates growing into a faculty  of law. It offers high quality courses at undergraduate levels which are intended to provide skills and competencies for a globally oriented student and practitioner.

The division trains people with adequate instructive requirements in the field of law all together that they get the chance to appreciate the nature and embodiment of law, litigation issues, lawful frameworks, structures, mechanics; and the impacts on, and of law in the public eye. . The department seeks to contribute to the  provision of legal training in  Tanzania, East Africa, and the World   and  to dd to the improvement of society at all levels  through creation of able Law Graduates to add to the pool  of gifted and proficient human power in the various areas: Legal Practitioners (the Bar), Judicial Officers (the Bench), State Attorneys, Law Instructors, Corporate and Tax Lawyers, Legal Advisors and Consultants.
