KIUT Chapel continues to refresh their freshers.

Kampala International University in Tanzania (KIUT) Chapel on Saturday, 21st of January organized a weekend treat primarily for their members, students in first year. The treat was a weekend away to Sunrise Beach Resort in Kigamboni aimed to continue welcoming the freshers and enhance enjoyment to the continuing students as they were also part of the team, together with staff members and former students who are also chapel members.

The event had several activities in store, including prayers, learning the word, worshipping, eating, swimming, and pool and surface games.

Brother Francis Mwombeki, one of the University alumni opened the event after their arrival by educating members on financial management during their stay at the University, with emphasis focused more on girls to prevent them from turning towards despicable behaviors but have them turn to Jesus Christ for comfort and direction.He wrapped up his teachings on the proper ways to source funds that is pleasing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

After the opening words and teachings, the members were allowed to engage in the planned games, which were beach football, tug of war, swimming, tag, and others more that aimed to bring members closer together.

Mr. Furahini Japherson, another alumnus of the University and KIUT Chapel, gave testimony and guidance about life at the chapel and University in general, while members had their meal.  He emphasized members to live a faith-based life, with one of his powerful testimonies beinghis journey towards selection as the Minister of Information and Communication of KIUT Students’ Organization (KIUTSO).

“It was through serving God faithfully at the media department of KIUT Chapel that made me be seen by KIUTSO,” said Mr. Furahini.

Pastor Stanley wrapped up the testimonial and teaching session by giving the freshers a historical and contemporary background of the chapel and its services.

“I encourage you all to feel free to attend church services and participate in other pertaining activities,” said Pastor Stanley.

Mr. Stanly also used the opportunity to introduce the freshers to the Chapel’s music class.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to inform and invite you all to our music class where you can learn to sing and use our multiple instruments,” added Pastor Stanley.

Professor Valiant gave closing remarks encouraging and reminding members to abide by God’sguidance in everything.

“God is the source of every good thing we need. He gives us strength and victory as the Bible says through Philippians 4:13 that I can do all things through Christ who gives us strength, and with God, it’s possible to engage in various works of the Church and yet be the best in class,” said Prof. Valiant.
