From 17th to 22nd February 2025, a week of spiritual rebirth at Kampala International University in Tanzania (KIUT) was ushered by praise, worship and fellowship in God’s word. The event took place at KIUT Main Hall, starting at around 5:30pm until 9:00pm daily with an average of 200 students and staff attendees who joined hands in seeking divine intervention.
The main speaker was Bishop Joy T. Takawira from Zimbabwe. The seminar started with praise and worship before the speaker took the stage to share the word of God. On the first day, Bishop Takawira shared a sermon titled “Coming Back to the Father,” based on Luke 15:11-32, the parable of the prodigal son. The message emphasized God’s unconditional love and His willingness to restore those who return to Him, reminding attendees that God’s love surpasses any challenge. The second day’s title of the message was, “The Power of the Word”, anchored on John 1:1. Bishop Takawira urged members to humble themselves before God to experience extraordinary things and mature in their relationship with Him.
On the third day, the sermon “Opening the Heavens” (Matthew 3:13-17) explored the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist, whereby Bishop Takawira explained that the heavens opened when Jesus, the Word, was baptized, signifying that God’s power moves where His Word is established. The fourth day focuse on, “Planting the Heavens”, aligning our lives with God’s will through the power of His Word, based on Exodus 20:7 and Isaiah 51:16. Members were reminded that walking in God’s dominion requires speaking His Word in their lives.
On the fifth day, the sermon titled “Kingdom of God” (2 Corinthians 3, Matthew 6:33) emphasized the power of God that is seen when faith and the Holy Spirit are present. Bishop Takawira encouraged members to trust in God’s sovereignty over their worries and challenges. On the final day, the theme “Kufamba Na Mwari” focused on the different ways God answers prayer through people, angels, and divine intervention. The message reminded the audience of the power of prayer in strengthening their connection to God’s will.
The seminar included Musical performances from African Enterprise, Dr. Robert Charles, Life Ministry Tanzania, Soma Biblia, and Matokeo Publishers to name a few. The performances brought the audience to their feet, whereby members clapped, danced and worshiped. The commitment by members throughout the event made KufambanaMwari a life-changing experience to attendees.
