Fiery finale crowns BPH champions of KIUTSO interfaculty finals 2025

The sun set in blazing glory over the Kampala International University in Tanzania (KIUT) sports grounds as the KIUTSO Interfaculty Competition 2025 concluded in dramatic fashion. The final football match—a much-anticipated clash between the seasoned KIUT Staff team and the energetic Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPH) squad—was not just a game; it was a spectacle of passion, pride, and community spirit.

From the very first whistle, the intensity was undeniable. Students, staff, faculty, and alumni packed the stands, creating an electrifying atmosphere with chants, vuvuzelas, and the booming voice of the “Mega Mic” emcee. For 90 thrilling minutes, no one remained seated as the battle unfolded on the field.

The KIUT Staff team, though older in years, proved their mettle. Their coordination, grit, and surprising bursts of speed drew roars from the crowd—with one popular chant echoing repeatedly: “Dr. Masese bado yuko fiti!” Their performance was a reminder that experience, too, plays with fire.

But it was BPH who ultimately stole the show. With sharp passing and clinical finishing, they found the net twice, securing a 2–0 victory and cementing their place in KIUT sports history.

The champions were honoured by the Guest of Honour, the KIUT Dean of Student, Ms. Elma Frank, receiving the trophy, gold medals, and a cash prize of TZS 500,000/=. The KIUT Staff, gracious in defeat, took home silver medals and TZS 250,000/=, along with the admiration of the entire university community.

The celebration did not end there. Champions across other disciplines—including netball, basketball, kabaddi, pool, draft, chess, bao, and volleyball—were recognized with medals and individual player awards. The air buzzed with laughter, the snap of photos, and playful talk of future rematches.

“We may have lost the match,” one staff player quipped with a grin, “but for 90 minutes, we were 22 again.”

As the crowd dispersed and the floodlights dimmed, the spirit of unity lingered. The KIUTSO Interfaculty Competition 2025 closed not just with winners, but with a stronger, prouder, and more connected university family.

Because at KIUT, it is never always about the game—it is about the bond.
