Hon. Jerry Silaa supports DAREVA League

The much-anticipated Dar es Salaam Region Volleyball Association (DAREVA) League 2025 officially commenced on Saturday, 15th March  2025, at the Kampala International University in Tanzania (KIUT) sports ground, bringing together more than 25 teams from across the region for an exciting season of volleyball.

Honourable Jerry Silaa, Minister of Communication and Information Technology and the Ukonga Member of Parliament was represented by Mr. Juma Mizungu, Chairperson of the Youth Union CCM Ilala District who officiated the league’s opening ceremony. Addressing a crowd of over 300 attendees, including players, supporters, university staff, students and the general community, Mr. Mizungu conveyed Hon. Silaa’s unwavering support for DAREVA.

Mr. Mizungu encouraged the athletes to embrace the spirit of sportsmanship and competition and emphasized the significance of sports in promoting good health and unity within the community. He iterated the event’s theme, “Vibe Kama Lote!” as he shared his excitement for the beginning of the games before stepping onto the court to deliver a ‘serve’, officially marking the beginning of the DAREVA League.

As the competition unfolds, teams and fans alike looked forward to an action-packed tournament that celebrates athleticism, teamwork, and community engagement.
