The Kampala International University in Tanzania Chapel (KIUT Chapel) treated their graduating members to a weekend outing at the Fun City Amusement and Water Park, located in Kigamboni, Dar es Salaam on Saturday, 26th September 2020.

More than 50 students, graduates and non-graduates went to the park for a whole day get together filled with fun games, rides, and related activities. Mesmerized by the surroundings, including the shores of the beach, green grass with beautiful flowers covering the area, together with well allocated food stalls and restaurants, the members were overwhelmed with joy upon arrival.

After settling down and receiving opening remarks from the organizers, the team was allowed to disperse and engage in the many activities available at the amusement and water park, which included slides, pool games, spinning wheels, swings and so much more.

At some point in-between the games, the students were gathered for some time to eat, drink, and have graduates share testimonies about their experiences and time shared with the chapel throughout their studies at the University. Strong and emotional expressions were shown with some admitting it was through the chapel they discovered the lord, and learned multiple skills such as playing various music instruments, creative designing, leadership, compassion and hard work, which they believe will bring them value in their career endeavors.

Teachings were given to everyone. Members were taught about branding where people should allow God to brand them since he is the creator of mankind and thus, should not worry about anything nor depend on our own efforts and understandings. Others gave encouragement to the finalists that they should let God transform them after receiving Christ in their lives. Pastor Stanley wrapped up the testimonial and teachings session by informing the graduates that the chapel will continue to be their home even after they depart from the university after graduation this year and thus, they should feel free to attend church services and other church activities if they so desire.

After the testimonies and meals, the games continued until evening where the team had to leave and return to the campus. Pastor Brenda gave closing remarks, urging everyone, especially the graduates who were leaving the institution to always obey God’s instructions for blessings to always come, and that they shouldn’t only strive to search for money.
