From popular sports within Higher Learning Institutions in Tanzania like volleyball, basketball, netball, and football to pioneering less popular sports like kabaddi and beach volleyball, the university is fast becoming a vibrant hub of sporting excellence.

Scholarship scheme for Student-athletes is our secret weapon that sets KIUT apart showing its unwavering commitment to making education accessible through sport. The university offers 50% bursary on all non-health-related programs to talented athletes who wish to pursue higher education while excelling in their game. These scholarships are a testament to KIUT’s belief in the transformative power of sport and learning.

DAREVA Tournament taking shape- The university’s men’s and women’s volleyball teams have made their mark in the Dar es Salaam Region Volleyball Association (DAREVA) League 2025, which takes place every weekend at KIUT’s volleyball sports ground. These high-energy Saturday and Sunday matchups bring together elite teams from across Dar es Salaam, turning KIUT into a lively venue buzzing with fans, fierce competition, and community spirit.

Basketball highlighted– On the courts of the Don Bosco grounds, KIUT’s basketball team continues to shine in the RBA League. With unmatched unity, skill, and resilience, the team regularly goes toe-to-toe with some of the top basketball clubs in the region, raising the university’s reputation in the basketball arena.

The game is afoot- Fresh from their participation in the Samia Cup, the KIUT football team is now competing in the prestigious Ndondo Cup. This tournament serves as a key developmental stage—enhancing players’ tactical skills, team coordination, and exposure to high-level competition. With unwavering motivation and a solid team ethic, the squad is determined to reach even greater heights, which includes the Third Division League at the Regional Level that start in Mid-Year.

The netball team is currently undergoing a critical team-building phase, integrating fresh talent while preparing for the coming Super League scheduled to take place in Tabora. With a rich history of success, the team’s determined efforts are laying the foundation for continued glory.

Kabaddi and beach volleyball training- KIUT’s kabaddi and beach volleyball teams are intensifying their training efforts. Recent friendly matches have revealed significant improvements, since teams are now gearing up for competitive matches ahead.
