KIUT kicked off their Samia Ilala Super Cup campaign with an impressive 2-0 victory over Keremu in the Round of 32 match played on February 20, 2025, at the Msikate Tamaa Grounds in Dar es Salaam.
Speaking to The Respondent Online, KIUT’s Head Coach, Erius Marius, expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance but acknowledged areas that needed improvement.
“It was a good game, but not everything went as planned. We missed several scoring opportunities, and there are things we need to fine-tune in training to ensure we perform even better in the next match,” Marius said.
He also reassured fans of the team’s commitment to success, promising more victories ahead.
“We urge our supporters to keep believing in us. Winning is part of our identity, and we will continue to fight for more positive results,” he added.
KIUT captain Hussein Chuse emphasized the team’s goal of securing victory in every match.
“Our objective is clear—to win every game we play. Starting with a strong result like this is a great motivation, and we thank God for guiding us to victory,” Chuse stated.
Meanwhile, KIUT player Greyson Gregory ‘Diego’ credited the team’s tactical discipline and coaching for their success.
“Both teams were well-prepared, but our coach gave us the right strategies that helped us secure the three points. Discipline, hard work, and training are the key factors behind our performance,” said Gregory.
He further highlighted that KIUT is in the competition to compete at the highest level, not just to participate.
“This match is behind us now; our focus is on the next challenge. We are here to win, not just to take part,” he concluded.
