TAFES 2019 Freshers Party

Tanzania Fellowship of Evangelical Students – Kampala International University in Tanzania (TAFES-KIUT) held a Freshers’ Party on Saturday, 30th November 2019 to welcome the new students, as they have already begun their respective studies. The event also featured the TAFES team that oversees the fellowship in KIUT and other universities in the country, invited to welcome the freshers and elaborate on TAFES as an organization, and its activities that encompasses its core values, mission, vision and objectives.

The party witnessed a huge attendance of new (freshers) and continuing (old) students and staff members at the ICT building for the one-day long event, which included heavy praise and worship sessions, and elderly advise from staff members and continuing students about campus life with special focus on spiritual life, academic excellence, business, relationships, and talent exploration while on-campus.

The Freshers’ Party is an annual event organized to expose new students to TAFES-KIUT and the social life of the campus and its thrills to ensure they receive a sense of belonging and spiritual growth as they endeavour in their respective studies.

This year’s event indeed featured exciting activities that included musical performances by students, bible studies and praise and worship that brought two young boys to Jesus Christ. This was among the most amazing and miraculous part of the event. Food and drinks were also provided to the invited guests during the sermons

Describing how joyous the freshers were with the activities, some new students expressed their amazement of such a welcome party, which they did not expect. Others commented that they felt real love and appreciation during the event and glad they joined the university. The two boys who gave their lives to Jesus Christ that night acknowledged the wonderful work TAFES was doing and felt the love of GOD through the course of the event.

All guests congratulated the organizers of the event, which was the TAFES-KIUT team under its Chairperson, Sister Huruma Tete.
