The Tanzania Fellowship Evangelical Students (TAFES) held a successful five-day conference at Trust St. Patrick in Arusha that ended on Christmas Eve, 24th December 2019.The theme carrying the event was, “Empowering to go and Witness,”derived from the book of Acts 1:8 that was delivered by the guest preacher from Kenya, Mr. Duncan Chinyayi.
The conference was geared towards showing appreciation to the Almighty God and continuous spiritual nurturing through the multiple activities prepared for the event. Attendees were exposed to the Bible exposition, plenary seminars, small group Bible discussions, praise and worship, and sports and games throughout the five days.
Some 727 people attended the event where 623 were students, 21 the TAFES team, 54 associates, 11 children, and 18 international delegates from Kenya, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The Go Conference 2019 witnessed behavioural and spiritual transformation during the five days through bible teachings, praising, worshiping, and sports and games that further taught people love, teamwork and self-respect. Not a few people gave their lives to Jesus Christ by totally submitting to His will and guidance.
Describing the reception of the event, invited guests showed their overall appreciation for the event and the people behind it by ensuring that the Word of God indeed not only reaches the masses, but also reminds those that are exposed to it to stay aligned to the Lord’s teachings. International delegates showed their amazement of the country’s rich, welcoming and humble culture. They showed no regrets of attending the conference and would consider increased attendance after what they witnessed.
Students expressed delight of how inspiring, liberating and educational the event was and committed themselves to teach others what they witnessed and learned and even bring their friends to the next conference.
Huge rounds of applause were given to the organizers and the TAFES team for preparing yet another life changing, fun and educational conference that left attendees cheering and thirsty for another one very soon.
The Go Conference is an annual event organized by TAFES Headquarters that brings together all members of TAFES Tanzania from various universities and colleges across the country together with non-members and international delegates.
