The Tanzania Fellowship of Evangelical Students of Kampala International University in Tanzania (TAFES-KIUT) held a Sports Bonanza on Friday, 31st of July 2020 at the University Sports Grounds from the early morning hours to noon.They wanted to embrace and show off their God-Given talents and foster greater unity and cooperation among their fellow students and university community at large.
More than 50 members and non-members participated in a variety of games viz. Â football, basketball, volleyball, and tug of war. Teams of finalists competed against continuing students. Eating competitions and egg-and-spoon racing also featured in the games.Winners in various categories scooped tantalizing prizes.
Continuing students dominated the bonanza by winning in football, egg-and-spoon, eating, and basketball games, while the finalists only won the tug of war game. Volleyball came to a draw with no winners.
The event was organized by TAFES KIUT’s Gift and Talent office.The organizers were grateful for the enthusiastic turn-out and vowed to prepare more events in the near future.Such events allow students to display their talents and cement bonds among students, staff members and the overall university community.
Furthermore, the organizers, led by Nathan and Caroline, stated that the event was part of their evangelism activities that also had non-members participate to experience an atmosphere of love and worship towards God.Participants prayed before, during and after the games.
