Overview
The Directorate of Information Communication Technology (ICT) at Kampala International University in Tanzania (KIUT), is a pivotal entity in the university’s mission to provide modern, innovative technological services to support the academic, administrative, and research activities of the institution. The Directorate ensures the university’s technology infrastructure and services are continually upgraded to meet the evolving demands of the academic community, while also enhancing the overall operational efficiency of the university.
From managing campus-wide network connectivity to facilitating digital learning environments, offering computer labs, administering the university's website, and providing ongoing training to students and staff, the ICT Directorate plays a comprehensive role in ensuring KIUT remains at the forefront of technology in higher education. The Directorate’s efforts in ICT service delivery enable seamless academic activities, improved communication, and a strong research environment.
The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) directorate was established in October 2010, when KIUT (then KIU-DCC) moved its operations to Gongo la Mboto area in Dar es Salaam. The aim of starting the ICT directorate was to assist the university to realize optimal use of ICT services and resources for research, learning and administration purposes.

Website Administration

Training and Capacity Building

Leadership and Organizational Structure
The Directorate of ICT is led by the Director of ICT, who reports directly to the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. The Director is supported by a team of ICT professionals, including system administrators, network engineers, e-learning specialists, cybersecurity experts, and technical support staff. The Directorate collaborates closely with other university departments, faculty, and external stakeholders to ensure that ICT services are seamlessly integrated into the university’s academic and administrative functions.
