Overview
The Department of Pharmacy at Kampala International University in Tanzania (KIUT) is dedicated to delivering world-class education in pharmaceutical sciences. Currently offering a Bachelor of Pharmacy programme, the department is supported by 12 full-time teaching staff, with 6 holding PhD qualifications and 6 with MSc qualifications from renowned universities in East Africa, the UK, USA, Belgium, Russia, and Cuba. Additional lecturers from the Faculties of Medicine, Computing, Education, and Public Health contribute to providing comprehensive training. Quality assurance is maintained through internal and external assessments by experienced evaluators from KIUT and neighboring universities. The department is actively developing postgraduate programmes in Pharmaceutical Management and Clinical Pharmacy, with plans to expand into other areas of pharmacy practice based on market needs.
