President

As the president of APEKI, Eshe Mtumwa Said leads with a vision to promote gender equality and awareness at KIUT. Her leadership drives the association’s mission to empower students and foster inclusive dialogue on gender issues.

About APEKI

Founded in 2023, the APEKI Association, widely known as the Gender Club, is a dynamic student organization at Kampala International University in Tanzania dedicated to advancing gender awareness and equality.

APEKI was established to promote gender equality, raise awareness about gender-based discrimination, and empower students through academic and developmental platforms. The association fosters evidence-based discussions, digital learning, and collaborative projects.

With 33 active members as of 2025, APEKI is open to all KIUT students who submit a written application letter. The association operates under a written constitution and holds bi-monthly meetings to plan and execute its initiatives.

To create a campus environment where gender equality is championed, fostering inclusive dialogue and empowering students to address gender issues effectively.

Mission

To empower students with knowledge and skills on gender rights, promote academic advocacy, and foster collaboration through seminars, workshops, and campaigns.
