Historical Background

The KIUT Speech and Debate Club is dedicated to improving the academic excellence of students across all university faculties. Through intellectual oral debates, the club enhances students' confidence, aiding in class presentations and public speaking.

Inspired by global platforms like the World Universities Debating Championship (WUDC), Pan African Universities Debating Championship, and the East African Community (EAC) University Students Debate, the club aims to develop quality leaders through wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.

Debates foster skill-sharing among students, building responsible citizens who contribute to political, social, and economic development aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The club promotes a vibrant intellectual community, leaving a legacy of wisdom and leadership.
