Kampala International University in Tanzania continues to make its mark beyond the classroom this time, through the heart of community service. On the 30th of May 2026, five dedicated volunteers from the Rotaract Club of KIUT stepped forward to represent the university at the International Charity Food Festival, held at Nordic School in Oysterbay, Dar es Salaam. The event, organized by the Rotary Club of Oysterbay, brought together individuals and organizations united by a shared commitment to making a difference.

More than just a festival, this was a gathering of people who believe that service is not an obligation but rather it is a calling. KIUT’s Rotaract volunteers joined participants from diverse backgrounds, working side by side in an atmosphere of warmth, generosity, and shared humanity. Together, they contributed to a worthy cause while celebrating the richness of cultural diversity that makes our global community so beautifully unique. For the Rotaract Club of KIUT, participation in this event was a powerful reminder of what it means to be a student leader. These five young men and women did not just attend an event they carried the values of Kampala International University with them: excellence, integrity, and a genuine concern for others.

The Rotaract Club of KIUT remains steadfast in its mission to develop young leaders who serve with passion and lead with purpose. This collaboration with the Rotary Club of Oysterbay is one of many steps in a journey of meaningful community engagement, and the club looks forward to many more opportunities to give back, connect, and inspire.
