We are pleased to mark the successful conclusion of the MAMODEX Work Packages 4 & 5 Stakeholder Meeting, held on Tuesday, 11 August 2026, at the Holiday Inn, Azikiwe Street, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The meeting brought together MAMODEX core investigators, officials from Tanzania’s Ministry of Health, and representatives of National Malaria Control Programmes (NMCPs) from Kenya, Malawi, and Uganda, strengthening collaboration and knowledge exchange across the region.
Through focused stakeholder interviews and engaging roundtable discussions involving WHO, IVD, and NITAG stakeholders, participants explored key factors influencing the uptake and implementation of malaria vaccines and chemoprevention interventions.
Regional experiences provided valuable insights, including Kenya’s transition to the R21 malaria vaccine and Malawi’s evolving malaria burden among school-age children. These discussions highlighted the importance of country-specific evidence in shaping effective and sustainable malaria prevention strategies.
Through advanced mathematical modelling, MAMODEX aims to support Ministries of Health with robust, evidence-based insights to identify optimal combinations of malaria interventions, improve resource allocation, strengthen decision-making, and ultimately contribute to saving lives across sub-Saharan Africa.
Together, we are turning data into informed decisions and collaboration into greater impact in the fight against malaria.
