Tanzania volleyball team from Kampala international university shine at grand palace hotel international tournament

MZUZU - In a thrilling display of skill and determination, the men’s and women’s volleyball teams from Kampala International University, Tanzania, have emerged victorious at the MK21 million 2025 Grand Palace Hotel International Volleyball Tournament. The tournament, which took place at the Katoto Volleyball Courts in Mzuzu, brought together top teams from across the region, but in the end, KIU Tanzania’s teams proved unbeatable. The men’s team dominated the competition, beating St Collins from Zimbabwe 3-1 in the final match. Their impressive performance showcased the team’s strength and strategy, leaving their opponents struggling to keep up. Not to be outdone, the women’s team demonstrated their prowess on the court defeating Malawi’s Wolves Ladies 3-0 in a match that was more about finesse than brute force. The sold-out crowd was wowed by the women’s agility, precision and teamwork. The tournament featured ten men’s teams and six women’s teams all vying for the coveted titles. However, KIU Tanzania’s men’s and women’s teams stood head and shoulders above the rest, displaying a level of skill and sportsmanship that earned them the respect of their opponents and the admiration of the spectators. “We are proud of our teams’ achievements,” said a spokesperson for KIU Tanzania. “This victory is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our players, coaches, and support staff. We are honored to represent our university and country on this platform.” The prize presentation ceremony took place last evening at the Grand Palace Hotel, with the winning teams receiving their trophies and medals. The event was attended by dignitaries, sports enthusiasts, and fans who gathered to celebrate the teams’ success. Kampala International University, known for its academic excellence and commitment to nurturing talent, has once again proven itself to be a breeding ground for sporting excellence. With its state-of-the-art facilities and experienced coaches, the university provides an ideal environment for students to hone their skills and pursue their passions. The victory is sure to boost the reputation of KIU Tanzania’s volleyball program, attracting more talented students to join the teams. As the university continues to strive for excellence in academics and sports, its volleyball teams will undoubtedly remain a force to be reckoned with in regional and international competitions.
