Advanced Implementation science & Program Evaluation Course Attracts Global Participation In Dar Es Salaam

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania | July 13TH -17TH 2026
The Advanced Implementation Science & Program Evaluation Course, currently underway from 13th to 17th July 2026, has brought together researchers, health professionals, programme managers, policymakers and implementation science practitioners for an intensive five-day capacity-building programme aimed at strengthening evidence-based decision-making and programme implementation.
The course has generated remarkable international interest, receiving more than 370 applications from participants across Africa, Asia and Europe, underscoring the growing global demand for advanced knowledge and practical skills in implementation science and programme evaluation.
Hosted at the Ummy Mwalimu Hall, located within the Children's Building at Muhimbili National Hospital in Dar es Salaam, the programme is being delivered through a blended learning model, combining both face-to-face and virtual participation. More than 40 participants are attending in person, while over 60 participants are joining the sessions online from different countries.
Throughout the training, participants are engaging in a comprehensive programme featuring expert-led lectures, practical case studies, interactive discussions and collaborative learning sessions designed to strengthen their ability to translate research evidence into effective policies, programmes and real-world practice.
The course also provides an important platform for networking and collaboration among professionals from diverse disciplines and countries, encouraging the exchange of experiences, innovative ideas and best practices in implementation science and programme evaluation.
By bringing together experts and practitioners from different parts of the world, the programme aims to enhance participants' capacity to design, implement, monitor and evaluate health and development interventions that deliver measurable and sustainable impact.
As the week progresses, participants will continue exploring innovative approaches that bridge the gap between research, policy and implementation while contributing to stronger health systems and improved programme performance across different settings.
